have been trying
running while pregnanthave you been running while pregnant? i have been trying . but even though i was a big runner before, i haven't been able to get into the running groove consistently. I ran a 5K in late December and that was the last time I ran that distance. My doc said I am fine as long as there is no pressure or discomfort. I am at the point where I can only get through 2 miles before I start to feel tight. Some days are harder than others, it also seems to depend on the time of day. if it is later in the day and I have been on my feet at work it's harder. I say do what you can at whatever pace you can. I didn't run at all when I was pregnant with my 11 month old, and by the time I was 8 months along, I was soooooo jealous of all the runners I would see at the park. Anyway, I've kept with it with this pregnancy and it's been great. I wear one of those Medela belts to hold the belly in and usually take 2 or 3 walk breaks in a 3 mile run. I'm going WAY slower than normal, but I'm just happy to be there!mommy to James Patrick 2.6.08 and Avery Katherine EDD 5.30.09I was running up until my belly got so big it made it uncomfortable and I started feeling lots of pressure. That was around http://www.vougers.com/mcm-c-71/ 22 weeks.I still do the elliptical and that is amazing. I could work out on that for hours because there is no pressure and it doesn't hurt my joints at all.I have a friend who has run through her previous two pregnancies up to about 3637 weeks with both! She doesn't have much of a belly while pregnant, though. So, my belly at 22 weeks was hers at 37 weeks yikes, I know!I was training for a marathon when I found out, and thought I could keep it up, but it actually made me sick, blackout and have spottingI think I was trying to train too hard. I tried to pick it back up when I was about 18 weeks or so, but could never get back into the groove. Not to mention as soon as I would start, I had to pee really bad. So, I resigned myself to walking, pilates and eliptical or bike when I'm at the gym. I do know people that ran almost the whole way through, they just had to majorly slow down. I think that might be the hardest part. I must admit I'm a little jealous you've been able to keep it up and congrats!
